Dear Brothers and Sisters:
I’m writing to tell you about an exciting opportunity for you to participate in helping to find a cure for blood cancer. I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 134 will be participating in the Light The Night Walk this September and has set a goal of raising $15,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I hope you will join us at this inspirational event that raises much needed dollars to fund cutting-edge research to find a cure for blood cancer and aid patients and families in our area.
Light The Night is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. It is a non-competitive event, where participants walk along a two mile route, carrying illuminated balloons -- white for survivors, red for supporters and gold for those who have lost a loved one to blood cancer.
I encourage you, your families and friends to join Team 134 and walk among thousands of patients and supporters in the Light The Night Walk. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be hosting a team Kickoff event on Monday August 16, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 134’s office, where they will have more information about the Walk. They will also hold a drawing for five two-night hotel stays that can be used in a variety of cities in the U.S.
If you or your family can attend, please call Colleen or Maryjo at Local 134, I.B.E.W, 312-454-1340 or by email to:
